We’re moving…

We just found out that we are finally leaving Duncan. I couldn’t be happier we been here for too long. I just about tried every food place, I can try and shopped everywhere, I can shop.

My husband is not so happy about he move. He would rather stay close to his race car. It’s so far away from our cabin (11hrs) and where both sets of our parents (8hrs). It’s further than we’ve ever been from home, but it’s not for very long.

I am excited to be going someplace new. I’m ready for a change as I said before I’m not good at settling in one spot, I get a weird anxious like feeling and I start planning random trips and all I wanna do is go go go! I was planning a trip to Nashville. (Oh believe me we are still going) It’s just going to have to get pushed back a few months.

So we’re headed to Cuero, Texas tomorrow. (It’s in south Tx, close to San Antonio) I’m excited it’s only an hour or so to the beach and there is tons to do all around! Do you have any ideas for us? We’re only going to be there for about 2 months and Dillon even has the weekends off so I need lots of ideas. He’s not good at setting around the camper!

I’d love to have feed back. We need tons of new sights to see, new food to try, and new things to do!

Duncan, Oklahoma…

I wouldn’t really say Duncan is one of those towns you go to, to vacation. [If you do, that is awesome you probably know more than I do about it then] It’s medium-sized town with no big name attractions, but Duncan has some cute little charming places.  If you are stuck there as we were, it’s not the worst place to be. It has a Walmart, Ross Dress For Less, a couple of other departments stores, and the regular big name restaurants Chilis, RibCrib, Applebee’s, and so on.  It’s got all the same stuff as almost all good sized towns have them, BORING!

I like little, I like local, I like friendly, I like different, and I like a good deal!

I got to check out downtown and it’s adorable. I’m also a sucker for murals and graffiti. There were a couple of nice murals downtown. My favorite had to be the crape myrtle, done by Palmers Murals (check out more Here)

The Prairies Rose is a little boutique on Main Street. A local suggested it when I complimented her outfit! [Y’all, we need more compliments and less hate] I really enjoyed it, the lady working was as sweet and helpful as can be. We talked like I’d been in there a hundred times and she’d known me for years. I picked out a couple of cute things. [splurged a little] I always love these little local boutiques and regret having to move away from them.

We ate at Jonny’s one night. Now, I only had a grilled chicken salad [we ate a lot of junk this week] but the chicken salad was good. Dillon had a Philly cheese steak sandwich and fries. Lo had chicken strips and fries. They both loved it. It was clean, and we didn’t wait forever for good food. I also loved their decor.

On our last day there Logan and I checked out the Rock Island 905 Railroad Depot Museum. It was free, neat, and interesting. There is also a little gift shop inside. The lady working was super nice and chatty! [poor Logan he just has to hang out because his mom doesn’t know a stranger] She gave Logan a train whistle and turned on the trains for him, and let him ring the bell! You can walk up in the different train cars and it’s super neat. It’s in the Fuqua Park!  [I love to say that] There is a wonderful play area and a cute little Kiddie Land with rides that are open on the weekends. We also checked out the memorial park.

We were in Duncan last year for a job and I’ll be honest I mostly went over to the neighboring town Lawton. I had a friend that was stationed at Fort Sill. I’m also obsessed with TJ MAXX [I know it’s not little, local, or friendly] but I was either there or hiding out in my camper being unsociable.

We did eat at Tastee’s it was a delicious hole in the wall! It’s not big but the food was Tastee! We went skating with some friends, at the skating rink! [wow what a throw back] We ate at Eduardo’s Mexican restaurant, [I’m picky about what I will call good Mexican food] but it wasn’t bad! I went to Debs Sew Biz, I bought some unique fabrics there. Deb was really sweet, I will continue to order fabric from her.

If you do travel to Duncan. Let me know what you thought and if you went these places.
